Early example glass cabin ashtray from the United States Line which shows a superb eagle company logo and company name etched on the glass. It is in a mint condition, quite heavy and is 4" (11.5cm) wide and the type of item used onboard or available to buy as a souvenir.
[The United States Lines was a transatlantic shipping company that operated cargo services from 1921 to 1989, and ocean liners until 1969 most famously the SS United States. The company was formed with three ships from the tonnage of the failed United States Mail Steamship Company. Two of the ships, America and George Washington, were originally German vessels that had been seized during World War I and kept as reparations.]
